GoINN - Gothenburg Innovation

GoINN is an initiative by Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg for building cooperating innovation systems. Via GoINN, researchers will be able to get the best possible support in the process of creating innovations, utilize research results and commercialize products and services.

The different players at GoINN offer services such as project development, business advice, IP competence and finance opportunities. Together with other players in the innovation system, we create a shared platform for identifying and supporting more research results with commercial potential. The initiative at GoINN will lead to more products, services and new companies for increased regional growth.

The project is one of five funded key player projects, with VINNOVA as the chief source of finance. The other funded projects are: Karlstad University, Linköping University, Luleå University of Technology in collaboration with Umeå University and Uppsala University. The programme has funding for eight years and is being carried out with the help of Region Västra Götaland and Innovationsbron. VINNOVA sees this as a long term initiative for strengthening competence, structures and processes, connected to the universities' contribution through joint-working.

Initially GoINN is focusing on a number of research environments: biomedicine, marine research, applied IT, environment and energy, nanotechnology and design & service.
